The problem may not be 'solved' but atleast I know what to do going forward. The thermal paste you're using is probably conductive so it's probably shorting something out. Probably about 70-80% of the time when I boot the machine it sounds as if its booting up but I get no video signal. Best to stick with a good old computer monitor when dealing with bootup problems. I assumed that if the system boots then it is probably a faulty mobo but that doesn't make sense since the whole system still boots and it cant be a faulty cpu because then it would turn on at all.. right?
